Karl Heideck explains the new car seat law

The recently passed car seat law in the state of Pennsylvania will go a long way in enhancing the safety of the children if it is followed to the letter. This is a law that will put a stop to the numerous cases of deaths of little children on the roads. The car seat law which started operating in August 2017 was established with the aim of making the cars a secure environment for the children. According to a report released by the AAA, road accidents was one of the top causes of deaths in children. Legislators in the state wanted this to be initial stage or addressing this problem that is taking away lives of many children in the United States.

Karl Heideck, a prominent attorney in the state, have taken time to explain this law to the public. He says that the law is a milestone in addressing the issues of children’s deaths in car accidents. When followed properly, this law will probably reduce the deaths that we see by a huge margin. The law requires parents to have special seats for their children. For children who are of two years and below, they will have to sit on special seats installed in the cars. These seats will be facing the rear of the vehicle. The reason they will face the rear of the vehicle is to add more protective measures. A research that was done showed that the rear facing position protects the child better than the front facing.

The car seat law has another provision that deals with children of under right years. The law says that these children should have special booster seats installed in the cars. Parents are urged to comply with the law as it is meant to benefit their own children. The law recommends punitive measure for failure to comply. For the first case that involves children of under two years, the law recommends a fine of $125 and for the second provision, the law recommends a fine of $75.
